Ocean City Fire Department Headquarters

Addition, Renovation
A Willow Construction building with a flag on the side of it.

Willow Construction was chosen to expand and rehab the Ocean City Fire Department headquarters. This project consisted of a 2,000 s.f. addition designed to include new conference rooms and offices for headquarters personnel who would be relocating from another facility. Improvements included a complete rehab of the engine bays, staff and officer offices, conference areas, and bunk rooms. The entire facility received new vinyl casement windows, roof replacement, and MEP upgrades.

Project Challenges & Solutions

  • Ocean City experienced the wettest spring in 18 years including two 100-year rain events and a tornado.
  • Willow and the rest of the team had to improvise during construction to work around the existing Water Tower, unknown buried water lines, and cell tower communications lines above grade.
