Gateway Village

Homes at Gateway Village is an affordable housing community for seniors. This project consisted of interior and exterior renovations to 155 apartments in a mix of one- and two-bedroom units and the construction of one new unit. The Community Room was expanded providing residents with a kitchenette and porch. The laundry room, management offices, and maintenance areas in the multi-story building and laundry building were also renovated. Exterior improvements include a fenced-in dog park, new fenced dumpster enclosures, covered mailboxes, a pavilion, and an accessible pathway. While this was an occupied site during construction, the tenants were required to be relocated to temporary facilities during renovation of their unit.

This is the third multi-family project Homes for America has done with Willow. This project was completed on time and Homes for America continued to find Willow to be a dedicated and professional partner.

The project was required to meet Energy Star certification, address accessibility codes and the construction schedule was phased to accommodate ongoing operations. Over the course of the project, Willow faced supply chain challenges, unforeseen conditions, and a host of other issues that come with occupied rehabilitation. For these reasons, this complicated project was a challenge for Willow, yet the Willow team stayed the course, providing timely communication throughout, offering constructive, cost-effective solutions to the unexpected issues, and ultimately delivering a successful project.
