Willow Construction was selected to build a two-story, state-of-the-art media center located on the Chesapeake College campus. All campus activities remained in operation during construction, including the daily deliveries serving the bookstore and cafeteria in an adjacent building. The exterior incorporated a three-story glazed curtain wall system with strict tolerances to interface with the structural steel support system.

Project Challenges & Solutions
- Coordination and installation of the two-story curved curtain wall system, manufactured by EFCO, was a major challenge on this project. It is supported by an exposed tube steel grid structure. This meant the allowable tolerance between the steel grid and the aluminum wall had to be minimal in order to accommodate the curtain wall and the twenty-two inch diameter aluminum column covers, all installed on a sixty-one foot radius.
