Willow Construction was selected by Caroline County to build a new Department of Emergency Services building. The project consisted of a 4,688 s.f. post and frame building with a 19’ x 37’ attic mezzanine space created by an “attic type” truss system. The building consists of new offices, sleeping quarters for the emergency staff during off hours, a kitchen, supply storage area mezzanine, and emergency vehicle garage bays for three vehicles.

Project Challenges & Solutions
- Access to the site required additional planning due to the porous pavement system and inclement weather conditions, which resulted in a muddy site.
- 24” of stone were placed to create a temporary staging area over half of the parking lot, which reduced the amount of compaction on virgin soil below.
