Willow Sponsors
Fund Raiser

by Andy Cheezum
Vice President

Willow Construction recently participated in the Bosom Buddies Ball held at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club (constructed by Willow). The Ball was a Queen Anne’s County fundraiser to support Breast Cancer. The benefactor of the fundraising event is the new Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) on Kent Island currently under construction. Our project team of Eric Milhollan, Jack DeVaughn, Brian Sweet and Andy Cheezum hosted a special guest, Carolyn Core, Vice President for AAMC . Our sponsorship of this event helped raise $100,000 for the new medical center.

In May of 2007 we will be participating in Project Idlewild www.projectidlewild.org. This project will create a playground at Idlewild Park. The event starts on Wednesday and culminates on Sunday. Hundreds of volunteers work to construct the entire project during this timeframe. A similar project “Ryan’s Red Swing” was constructed outside the Salisbury Zoo a few years ago. During that project, we constructed a wood framed gazebo.

Again, we need skilled and unskilled labor for this fabulous community project. Please contact Eric Milhollan at 410-822-6000 x139 for details.

A sign-up sheet is posted on the employee bulletin board.

The Kinney Residence at Morgan’s Point in Oxford, MD will soon be featured in the Washington Home & Garden Magazine. The project, which includes a main residence, pool house and garage with guest apartment, is the featured residence in the Spring 2007 issue. The owners hosted a party on October 27, 2006 to celebrate the completion of their new home and thanked those who made their dream a realty. The highlight of the evening was when Project Architect, Lauren Dianich, Atelier 11, Ltd. presented the Kinney’s with a granite cornerstone engraved with Willow Construction, LLC and and Atelier 11, Ltd. Congratulations to our project team of Carolina Santos, Steve Thomas, Steve Robbins and many of our craft professionals for a job well done!
